Meet the founder

Manju Bhandari

Co-founder of Saffron Groups, Bengaluru

Manju's creative journey began with a love of food. She ran cookery classes, teaching North Indian dishes and Bengali sweets to groups of more than 200 people.

In 2014 she began teaching and ran summer camps across several locations at once, helping homemakers earn a living for themselves. That work later grew into a long association with the Pidilite group of companies, through which she taught macramé, pottery, painting, glass painting and nib painting to students of all ages. She was also associated with Kumarans Chilterns Home.

Her creativity didn't stop there. She took her husband's manufacturing business into new verticals, and Saffron Handicrafts was born.

Through exhibitions across India, she works to employ women and artisans who want to earn a livelihood from their talent for handmade work. As an innovator and designer herself, she carries a family of 45 people with her towards that shared dream.
